Ivan-Lloyd aka (DJ Ngamla / DJ Ivy) one of South Africa’s most up and coming DJ’s, his artistic talent naturally fills the Dance floor’s within minutes from all race and cultures. Growing up in South Africa ,he was born and bred in Pretoria, and moved to Nelspruit with his mother at the age of nine, here he was introduced to the world of music and started playing at home as a bed room DJ. and moved on to playing at private functions and big event such as ‘’H20’’ and vireos townships and night Club’s such as Cofi / Roxys / Sutra / Chili lounge / Malabo / Ground level / Liquid lounge / Sugar / Bourbon street / B52 / Inferno / Corona café / Drop zone / Ruby-blue /
Casablanca / News café’s around the Mpumalanga and JHB area and has Done ALTI MIX’s For DJ Fresh’s show on 5FM and has played LIVE on 5FM for the {ALIVE WITH THE POWER OF 5FM} on Catherine’s show and would like to play in Ibiza and Miami.
DJ Ngamla / DJ Ivy literally lives and talks music if it has a good beat to it be sure that ‘’THE WHITE BOY’’ will be playing it and has competed in many different battle of the DJ’s competition’s and all so performs as TOP-DECK GROOVE with aka Sterra on live percussions and me Ngamla/Ivy on the deck’s and all so has a two hour slot on the ‘’Sound Republic Dance Web Radio’’ show witch is called ‘’Essential House’’ Beat’s with ‘’THE WHITE BOY’’ on ever Sunday from 12-2 PM and on Monday’s as DJ Ivy & Rick-E from 12-2 MP witch is called ‘’Beat-Route’’ . And works for Retro Music in JHB’ and he is busy getting in to the producing scene right know so keep an ear out for ‘’THE WHITE BOY’’.
While playing at News Café in Nelspruit for the pre party to a local radio station in Nelspruit lgwalagwal FM, a promoter one of many by the name of Bright Mazsuku ‘’BLACK GROUND ENTERTANMET ‘’ saw the potential in this Dee jay and as such he was introduced to the African consumer market and was invited to perform at the 2nd wedding reception for Matthews Posa’s daughter in Katlegong JHB.
Thus the name ’’NGAMLA ‘’ was born – the crowd just loved him and started the chant of Ngamla, Ngamla, Ngamla. And the rest as they say – is history. And has since played alongside Durban’s Finest ( Sox – Tira ) DJ Fresh, DJ Sdunkero, DJ Bongs and the guys from (Soul Candi) and Dino Bravo.and as DJ Ivy / Lady Lea / Ricardo Da Costa / Cecil Mac / Louis / Dave Skins / Andy Dill / Bart Marley and Many more…..
